Some people would argue those were better days, and you have a chance to reminisce on them when Ne-Yo & Akon come to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Sunday, August 9th.
This duo has a similar career path, and it's actually fitting that they're teaming up for this 2026 road trip titled "Nights Like This." They both went from "Lonely" tracks to the upbeat party scene. Showing fans that maybe the cure to those dark nights is a tray of shots and some great company. They're promising that every night on this tour will be a party, and of course, that includes this stop in Texas. Smack That, Miss Independent, Hold My Hand, or maybe Right Now, which one would you like Akon or Ne-Yo to kick the night off with? The only issue is that by the time Nights Like This hits Spring, Texas, you'll have had a ton of chances to look for spoilers. Truly, the best advice we could offer is to resist the temptation of looking at TikTok videos from previous performances. The last thing that you want is for someone to spoil the magic behind the curtain for you. Even if you have an idea of what the set list is going to look like, it's still going to be a blast if you have a chance to catch these two live.
These two are not hiding the fact that the concert is going to turn into one big party. How could it not? To this point, the only collaboration these two have was "Play Hard" with David Guetta. If you're reading this, you probably don't need to be reminded that this was a major party anthem at one point. That doesn't mean that you won't get your dose of convict music! Akon has just released a new single, leading up to this album titled "Locked Up With You." Talk about making the best out of a bad situation.
The best way to look at things here is to treat this concert like a music fest. Some of the best spots are going to be close to the stage or even toward the back of the pavilion. That's where you're going to be able to just loosen up and get into the party groove that will engulf this venue. It might be a little harder to do that within the main theater.
