The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots & Dorothy are all going to be lighting up the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Saturday, May 30th. Check the list of shows at this venue, and you might realize we're entering into a bit of a dark age for neo-metal or any genre with loud guitar lines. There just aren't too many shows that will wave the flag for this genre all year at this iconic spot. That's one of the main reasons why you just can't afford to miss this Godsmack-led, The Rise of Rock World Tour.
Once you set foot inside the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, you'll realize that this is essentially a one-day metal fest. Stone Temple Pilots & Dorothy are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the opening acts. It's gonna get loud, there are going to be a lot of dark t-shirts and long-haired fans. If you've been out of the metal scene for a while, there might be some wrinkles to this Godsmack main event that will be new. Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill are the only two remaining founding fathers of the band who will hit the road in 2026. Even though that's the case, they've been releasing new music as early as a year and a half ago with Power Hour. That album didn't even make it to the band's updated Wikipedia page, which still says 2023's Lighting Up the Sky was their latest release. All this to say, don't believe everything that you read online, unless it's something like this in an official ticket source that's going to get you access to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for this show!
This is perhaps the reason that most people are going to be making their way to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. If you happen to be a massive fan of Godsmack or The Stone Temple Pilots, then it's a win-win for sure. The thing is, once you set foot inside this venue, the music is going to be playing, and you're going to feel like it's the 2000s all over again. We don't have a metal performance on this level making its way to this area all year. Don't miss this one!
The front of the pavilion will be a rock experience for the ages. Complete with a potential moshpit and the idea of being shoulder to shoulder with like-minded people. That being said, it's an idea that might not sound too cool for someone who was already listening to "Awake" on the original CD. If that's you the middle of the pavilion within the main theater, that's where you need to be! Great views, some personal space, and a cleaner path to restrooms and back to the bar area.
